There is some play-wear and the nitro finish has plenty of lacquer crazing.
Again i mean no offense when i say this, just wanted to clear that up. Our own Tom Guitar has some of the nicest early EB-2's I've seen if he happens to see this.....Anyone know about how many there were of these in that finish? I don't think I ever knew exactly what year it was as I recall but it was the only goldtop I've ever seen. Gibson has released the Midtown bass that looks exactly like the EB2, but in my opinion, sounds nothing like it. (I don't know how to link multiple sources in one post, so successive posts will have to illustrate my point) You must use headphones or a good set of speakers to hear the bass frequency, regular computer speakers wont cut it.Anyone know about how many there were of these in that finish? I have the Epiphone Rivoli from the '60s, hard to date, but it was made between '63 and '67. Perfection from the same plant as the Gibsons in Kalamazoo.

If his Rivoli does infact have an acoustic pickup mounted on it, its an aftermarket job that a previous owner did. The bass player in the first band I ever "gigged' with played an EB2.
